Pulling The Trigger

I vaguely remember my uncle taking me hunting back home in Malaysia. I think I was about 10 years old. That was the first time I held a gun. To me, a gun or rifle can be bad, good or evil. It all depends on what you use it for. Look at what happened in Virginia Tech couple weeks ago.

Jimmy has quite a few rifles, namely the AK47, Mini 14, SKS, Lee Enfield(303, Bolt Action), Swedish, Portugese and German Mousers, A303, 30-06 and WW2 Japanese Rifle.

Jimmy promised Jake that he would take him shooting since he helped us move. I went along. We went to A Place To Shoot

It was a very interesting experience, and I have to say I enjoyed it. Although, I learned a valuable lesson. We have to clean the rifles after we have used them. Man! they took a long time to clean. It was also a very tedious and time consuming job. I told Jimmy that we will only go shooting next time if we have all day to spare. I was helping him clean the 4 rifles that we used, and it took us almost 4 hours. Every single part and compartment has to be carefully cleaned with some chemicals. All in all, the cleaning part was something that I didn't like.

Here are some pictures............

Handguns Range

This is the one for us. The rifles range.

Paper targets are about 75 yards away. The metal targets are in the hills, you can only see them through the telescope. They are far far away.

Jake unloading the gear.

Must have safety glasses

Ammunition.

Laying out the rifles
Jimmy brought 4 different rifles

We found bullet cartridges all over the range

Getting the ammo out
Loading the magazines

Jake and I waiting for our turn to shoot

Jimmy trying out his Mini 14

Me, shooting with the Mini 14. This is actually my favorite piece. It is the lightest of all.
I was quite accurate for shooting the first time. I actually hit all the targets, only with this rifle.
Jake's turn

Me again

Shooters changing their targets

Loading the Russian SKS for us

Trying out the SKS.

This was the worst. This is the WW1 British Lee Enfield. A very heavy and powerful rifle. It has a very hard kick. Man it hurt my arm.

Jimmy with the Lee Enfield.

Here comes the AK 47! Neat! It shoots 30 rounds very quickly.

Getting a good shot........you know what I mean

Jimmy's Pets

Well, well, well. Jimmy won't agree to us having a dog, but he has his birds instead. I wanted to have a dog but the request was denied. His reasoning is that, it isn't fair for that poor dog to be left alone at home. He also said that we don't have a yard big enough for the dog to move around. I don't know if I fully agree to that but he's the boss. I even offered to quit my job to stay home with the dog........that was not well received, of course.

These are the humming birds that come over to our yard everyday, very hungry looking for food. Jimmy bought a humming bird feeder to satisfy their hunger. In the beginning, there were just a couple that came over, but soon we had about five or six. So, Jimmy went out to get another feeder. The birds love it so much and they literally gobble it down within days.

Since then, they are officially our pets. It is lovely to see them coming to us for food. They are beautiful, cute little birds. They eat all day! Yet so tiny!

Enjoy the moments best captured..................

What I Did in Texas

At long last, our trip to Texas was here. Adeline and I were disappointed when we found out that we were not able to sit next to each other on the plane. I asked a woman sitting next to Adeline if she would mind switching seats. She declined. Things changed for the better when the gentleman sitting on the other side of Adeline offered to change seats with me. A good deed performed by a true gentleman. We disliked the woman immediately and we only spoke Chinese throughout the whole journey. Did we annoy her? Maybe we did, too bad.

My mission in Texas was house hunting, while Jimmy was busy working very very hard. Too bad! Jimmy and I are thinking of buying a house in Frisco, Tx. It was quite a fruitful trip even though we didn't buy a house. Although, we did find a house that we really liked. It was a beautiful house, over 4000 sq feet! Huge kitchen and a three car garage! Sweet!

Adeline tagged along to see Texas for the first time. She was quite surprised when she got there. I guess she had this picture of Texas being very suburban and probably not expecting a metropolitan city. She liked it as soon as she saw the shopping malls. She said, "I want to move here".

We were shocked when we got there. It was unseasonably cold and it actually snowed. Since I didn't expect snow in Texas, I didn't have much warm clothing. So, consequently I spent most of the weekend cold.

Will we move to Texas? The jury is still out. We will see.

Adeline about to board the flyaway bus. She was so excited

So happy

The airport was a zoo......look at the crowd. Well, it was Easter weekend.

Alright guys.....pay attention to this. My very creative moment.

Ta Dah!!!!! What a coincidence!
This is from the front page of the magazine on our flight.
How cute!! I hope this won't trigger a revenge. My pics are so much cuter than that ugly man, it's not fair. Copyright reserved

The green side of Texas

Check this out! A wine cellar in the house. How neat is that???

This is what I mean Huge Kitchen!

Look at this mansion!

This is the house that I like most, with the master bedroom upstairs.
Most of the houses here are weird with the master bedroom on the first floor.
Unfortunately, the outlook of it is not very attractive

Beautiful!

We decided to have dinner at Bennigan's. Reminds me so much of my life in Michigan.

Shamrock....very Irish

Mr & Mrs Hynes

Ready?

No More Beer

Jimmy's choice...Fish & Chips again! Every Single Time! So boring...

Adeline and I have the same dinner. Baby back ribs.
